Including two gastronomic gatherings.
Next weekend, December 17th and 18th, in Soller, the "Fira de l'Oli i la Mel" will take place. The fair, dedicated to olive oil and honey, is organised by the town councils of Sóller, Fornalutx and Deią, with collaboration by the Balearic Government and several companies. On Saturday as from 10 a.m., in the square of the town, the "Fira de Sóller, Fornalutx i Deią" will open, offering all sort of goods relating olive oil and honey, as well as farming equipment. There will also be oil and honey tasting and live demonstration of olive oil making. As from 8 p.m. the activities will move to the Sóller market where the gastronomic gathering "Mostra gastronņmica de l'Oli i la Mel, i degustació de vins" will take place. The gathering will have the participation of the following restaurants: Can Jaume (Deią), Celler Cas Carreter (Sóller), Es Turó (Fornalutx) and Las Olas (Port de Sóller). More over the ice cream producer Gelats de Sa Fąbrica (Sóller) and the school Escuela de Hostelerķa de Sóller will also participate in the meeting.
On Sunday at 10 a.m., the activities will carry on outside the Sóller market with the exhibition and sale of goods relating oil and honey, a contest of "allioli" (garlic sauce) and a demonstration of honey extraction. Finally, at midday, the second gastronomic gathering "Mostra gastronņmica de l'Oli i la Mel, i degustació de vins" will take place, with the participation of restaurants Cafč de Sant Ramon (Port de Sóller), Bon Profit (Sóller), Bens d'Avall (Sóller) and Es Canyķs (Port de Sóller), and pastries Fills de Toni Frau and La Lareńa.
