Celebrations in the Lluc Sanctuary
Proposals for August, September and October.
The Sanctuary of Lluc has just published the program of the "Festes de la Diada 2009". The first events will take place on August 8, 9 and 10, to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the coronation of the Virgin of Lluc (1884-2009).
The festive activities will resume on Saturday, September 5 and will last a whole week, until Sunday 13. The programme includes as usual the grand dance of the Diada, that will take place the evening of Saturday 12, and the "XXX Pujada a Peu de la Part Forana" (walk up from the villages), organised by the Associació d'Antics Blavets, that will be held in the small hours of Sunday 13
And there is a final proposal for October, but this will take place in Palma. This is a great concert by the Escolania of Lluc and the Orquestra Simfònica de les Illes Balears in the church Sagrats Cors in Palma on October 8th.
