Open Office in Catalan

Softcatalà presents the web and the glossary of the project Open Office in Catalan: www.softcatala.org/projectes/openoffice.

This project started three months ago when Softcatala and the multinational Sun Microsystems signed and agreement signed an agreement to translate into Catalan the Open Office 6.0, the version of open code of the well known office package Star Office, which includes a word processor, spreadsheet and other desktop applications.

Softcatalà has also presented, at the same web page, the glossary that is been used in the translation of this "suite", including more than 6.000 entries.

The first version of the programme will be available at the webs from Softcatalà and Open Office at the end of the year and will have editions for Windows, Solaris and Linux. They are also studying the possibility of carrying out a version for the Macintosh operative systems.
