The family wine cellar,
Vins Can Majoral, elaborates wines of maximum
quality via ecological cultivation. The grapes from their own vines in
Son Reus and Son Roig, in the municipality of Algaida, where they
cultivate both Mallorcan auchthoctonic varieties (manto negro, callet,
giró and premsal) and other varieties of red (cabernet sauvignon,
merlot, pinot noir, sirah, ull de llebre and garnatxa) and white
(chardonnay, riesling, viognier, xarel.ló and parellada).
The cellar, situated in Algaida, produces approximately 25.000 litres a
year, distributed mainly in Spain, 85% of the production and 15% abroad.
The wines of Can Majoral are aromatic, structured, balanced and
lasting. Two labels are marketed:
- CAN MAJORAL, red and white mature wines, and white and rosé young
wines.
- BUTIBALAUSÍ, for cupages in white, rosé and red wines.
Andreu Oliver, better known as Andreu Majoral, has managed the family
business since 1996. Curiously, we can mention that Andreu Majoral is
the brother of the singer from Algaida,
Biel Majoral, although the
latter has not connection with the firm.
The wines of the cellar belong to the denomination of origin PLA I
LLEVANT DE MALLORCA that covers two areas of Mallorca, the Plain and
East, with 19 towns and a cultivated area of 500 hectares. This
denomination of origin includes seven other producers: Antoni Gelabert,
Armero Adrover, Galmés i Ferrer, Jaume Mesquida, Miquel Gelabert, Miquel
Oliver and Trevín.
