Fiestas for Sant Sebastià in Palma
The programme organised by the Palma Town Council for the Fiestas de Sant Sebastià, the city's patron saint, will start on Saturday, January 12, at 11 a.m., with a street parade having giants, xeremiers, dancers and dragons... going via Plaça de l'Olivar, Sant Miquel, Plaça Major and Colom, and ending at Cort, where the group Música Nostra will read the proclamation of the fiestas. Finally there will be a popular dance at the same Plaça de Cort, with music by Música Nostra.

On Sunday 13, at 11 a.m. there will be a meeting of Music Bands at Ses Voltes with the participation of six groups: Santa Cecília de Son Rapinya, s'Almudaina, Unió Musical de Son Cladera, Agrupació Musical d'es Camp Rodó, Nostra Terra de Son Ferriol and Banda de Música de Palma.

The fiestas will continue until Sunday 27 with many cultural and festive proposals. The dance for Sant Sebastià, on Saturday 19, is the most popular celebration of the fiestas, and this year it will include performances by Fora des Sembrat, Ocults, Mesclat, La Gran Orquestra Republicana, El Diablo en el Ojo, Xaloc Música, Jarabe de Palo, El Fari and Bertín Osborne, amongst others.
